Emory Centers training director talks prevention as CDC report shows 30M Americans have diabetes

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provided the latest glimpse into diabetes surveillance data for the US with the release of the 2017 National Diabetes Statistics Report in late July. The report reveals that there are 30.3 million Americans living with diabetes and 84.1 million with prediabetes.

Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) station WRAS 88.5, Georgia’s statewide public radio network, recently featured Emory Centers Lifestyle Coach Training Director Sarah Piper as a guest speaker to discuss the new CDC report on their program, On Second Thought. Much of the conversation on the show centered around opportunities for diabetes prevention for the millions of Americans at risk for type 2 diabetes.
