What do "technical assistance" and "capacity building" mean? We think the stories and quotes below explain these terms better than any textbook definition could. See how the Emory Centers have helped our partners and collaborators to achieve their public health goals.
Coaching and program implementation assistance for public health programs
DTTAC has provided exceptional customer service from the very beginning and continues do so through our monthly technical assistance calls. Both Sarah Ann Piper and Master Trainer Arlene Becker have been extremely flexible in coordinating calls among three time zones so that all our Lifestyle Coaches are able to join. They have provided amazing administrative guidance and specific curriculum expertise to support our Spanish-speaking Lifestyle Coaches. Ms. Piper and Ms. Becker are knowledgeable and responsive to Tulare County’s NDPP implementation needs. We appreciate the time they have dedicated to us.

Tobacco 101 on-site workshop
I recommend the Tobacco 101 training to any state program that could use a booster on evidence-based tobacco practices; the skilled trainers breakdown the fundamentals in a fun and friendly manner encouraging questions and lively discussion. Aptly named, the program is the "go to" resource for learning the ABCs of tobacco control from seasoned experts.

Lifestyle Coach Training
This was a very intense, 'hands on' learning environment. We were able to put what we learned into practice and get feedback from our training group. It would be very difficult to get equivalent training without this type of group setting combined with expert trainers.
--Lifestyle Coach, Georgia
What an excellent training! It is rare to participate in a training that keeps you engaged the whole time and adequately equips you to move forward in the real world.
