Testimonials: The Emory Centers difference

At the Emory Centers for Training and Technical Assistance, we help our clients and their partners develop the skills, programs and policy action needed to build healthier communities. Our two dedicated Centers, the Diabetes Training and Technical Assistance Center (DTTAC) and the Tobacco Technical Assistance Consortium (TTAC), have provided capacity-building services to community, state and national programs in all 50 states and territories over the past decade.

What people in the field are saying about DTTAC Lifestyle Coach Training:

I loved the training. I thought the DTTAC Master Trainer was remarkable. She was very knowledgeable, but more than that she taught us how to run our class by the way she ran the training. I cannot say enough about her. I feel like I am a hard sell on anything and everything. She made me a believer right away.

I can confidently say that in all of my days participating in training, this was hands down the best that I have ever attended. I think that a lot of that had to do with the content and the efficiency of the program, as well as the likeability and professionalism of the DTTAC Master Trainers. I really do appreciate the opportunity to be a part of such an incredible program, and I'm grateful for the platform upon which I received the skills and insight necessary to successfully implement it.

This was a very intense, 'hands on' learning environment. We were able to put what we learned into practice and get feedback from our training group. It would be very difficult to get equivalent training without this type of group setting combined with expert trainers.

The training was tremendously valuable to me. We practiced facilitation and became familiar with the National Diabetes Prevention Program curriculum. I am optimistic about the program after experiencing the other participants’ presentations and witnessing the internal changes in my motivation and thinking.

What an excellent training! It is rare to participate in a training that keeps you engaged the whole time and adequately equips you to move forward in the real world.

This was one of the best training programs I’ve ever attended! Our DTTAC Master Trainer was so effective. We learned just what we needed to know to become Lifestyle Coaches, and the program materials are clear and comprehensive. Thanks for the opportunity to influence the health of our population.

Outstanding training! The National DPP has taken the best of the best and wrapped it into one evidence-based program that truly takes prevention upstream. DTTAC/Emory staff and our DTTAC Master Trainer were professional, kept our group on time, and were able to educate/instruct to many different learning/teaching styles. The National DPP will help many Mainers change their health behaviors with personal goals that help them make these changes for life.

Great training, even as a practicing educator and coach I learned new tools and techniques I can implement tomorrow.

DTTAC Lifestyle Coach Training was great. I came thinking I knew what I needed to know to teach the National Diabetes Prevention Program and left with a new wealth of knowledge on group facilitation, a new respect for the strength of the research base of the program, and a renewed enthusiasm for getting a program going at home.
